SING

When was the last time,
You heard yourself sing,
Let the notes run to the moon,
As you danced in the sheets,
When was the last time,
There were echoes in your valley,
A melody dripping in honey,
To a rhythm in the streets,

When was the last time,
You touched the sky,
Challenged the stars,
With your glistening skin,
When was the last time,
You warmed up your voice,
For an audience of one,
Maybe two, maybe three, me

Still I’ll listen,
I’ll hold on to every vibrato,
That shakes my soul,
When you sing
