SAY

I wish you’d linger,
Just a little bit more,
In this embrace,
Like you do in every memory,

I wish I could compress,
Every lived experience,
And every new one,
In this heart-shaped safe,

I’m worried,
That I’ll meet time,
At the finish line,
With your hand not in mine,

I’m worried
I’m running out of words,
Like my thoughts,
Divorced expression,

But I’m hoping you’d listen,
To what I’ve been trying to say,
You’d hear my soul whisper,
“I needed that”

Like I’d been praying to God,
Like I’d been manifesting alignment,
Like I’d been running each experiment,
To try and prove my words valid to you,
