RESOLUTIONS

Here I am standing,
Between then and now,
Testing this image to see a future,
In changes in hope succeed,

Dotting all my i’s,
Crossing all my t’s,
In a to-do list, I have revised,
Over and over annually,

Here I am standing,
Between now and where I am going,
Though stuck like a hamster,
On a wheel rolling in both directions,

Checking off every number,
As if the tick in a box,
Is a yes to a version of me,
I am about to meet,

If only I could make it,
If only I could move beyond now,
If only tomorrow could come,
A day with no more resolutions.
