The sun only licks the surface,
Of a glow that emanates from beneath,
A mixture of soul and passion,
The deep sweetness of the berry,

This colour reflects royalty,
Paints crowns atop minds,
That hold sacred this knowledge,
Bestowed upon us by those who walked before,

It is this beauty of life, you take in,
When you do, take it in by your eyes,
Take it in by your lips,
Take it in by your ears,

The sounds of confidence,
The soothing smooth skin,
The warmth in the way,
Light makes love to the dark,

It scares me sometimes,
How blind we grow,
When others’ eyes are all we know
Does it scare you too?
