LIMBO

There,
In the space between the pendulum swing,
A moment of pause held in motion,
A place neither here nor there,

Where,
A seesaw in equilibrium,
Not because both sides weigh the same,
Just a lull in the shift

Here,
A fence beyond the point of breaking,
A painter unable to tell by their eyes,
Which side is greener,

If silence is to side with the oppressor,
This deafening voicelessness carries blood,
An unwillingness to find strength,
To host a breath with opinion,

There, is a side to take without fault,
Where, in-between is not diplomacy,
Here, is a place to stand,
Unwavering,

It isn’t the space between heaven and hell,
It isn’t purgatory with the chance of salvation,
It isn’t safety outside this or that,
Limbo
