Where did you go?

I searched the libraries of experience,
Slipped my fingers between philosophy,
Schemed pages on ideologies and opinions,
But I still didn’t seem to find you.

I searched the halls of emotion,
I keep the lantern on thinking of you,
Maybe this door or the next or the next,
But I keep coming up short

I searched spaces between self-image,
The line between misplaced realities,
Jilted reflections in dirty mirrors,
Still, your lack of presence haunts me,

I searched the chambers of belief,
Where you told me God reigned supreme,
But even He no longer held tenancy,
Where did you go?

Nostalgia has been calling your name,
The memories of a little child along with it,
A mural of all these experiences,
Now a blank canvas,

If life has stripped you of your very being,
Help me help you find it again,
We could play seeker and count,
Maybe we could find where you are hidden,
