If I could tie a ribbon to my finger,
And give it to fate, the universe,
Or to whoever is running this,
I think they’d string it back to you,

If I could run far and wide from here,
Take air, land or sea to get away,
I’d stand at the ends of the earth,
Within your sights as you stand on the pier,

If I could turn myself inside out,
Wear all my good manners like bad habits,
Dress my vices like virtues,
I’d still find you in the reflection in the mirror,

If I could take my heart out of my chest,
Staple it to the table and break it down for parts,
I’d still find you in the pieces I take out,
Like puzzle pieces to a whole picture,

If I could tie a ribbon to my pinky,
And trace the line to the end of it,
I’m almost certainly positive,
I’d find yours at the end of it,

If I could, I would,
And I can so I shall,
Engrave it into a ring,
And call it commitment,
